R\u00e9veil \u00e0 6h00 et d\u00e9part \u00e0 7h00. Le grand r\u00eave d’une vie, le num\u00e9ro 1 sur ma liste des choses \u00e0 faire avant de mourir (avec une musique de fond \u00e9pique svp !). Aujourd’hui nous nous rendons au Machupicchu (oui oui \u00e7a s\u2019\u00e9crit bien avec 2 “c”). D’abord \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s 25 min de marche pour atteindre l’entr\u00e9e basse du site. Nous avons prit les tickets pour entrer entre 9h-10h00. L’ascension commence, pleine d’entrain et d’\u00e9toiles dans les yeux. Entrain qui diminue au fils des 1600 marches …<\/p>\n\n\n

Vers 10h05 se termine mon calvaire bord\u00e9 de paysages montagneux. Directement abord\u00e9es par des guides, nous en d\u00e9nichons un qui propose des prix abordables pour 3h de visite.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Wake up at 6:00 am and check out at 7:00 am. The big dream of a lifetime, number 1 on my list of things to do before you die (with epic background music please!). Today we go to the Machupicchu (yes yes it is written well with 2 “c”). First about 25 minutes walk to reach the lower entrance of the site. We took the tickets to enter between 9am-10am. The ascent begins, full of spirit and stars in the eyes. Enthusiasm that decreases over the 1600 steps …<\/p>\n\n\n

Around 10:05 am ends my ordeal bordered by mountainous landscapes. Directly approached by guides, we find one that offers affordable prices for 3 hours of visit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Alors qu’il a plut les derniers jours, nous avons droit \u00e0 un soleil magnifique et une chaleur raisonnable. Les moustiques sont bien entendu au RDV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La visite commence, le guide , qui pourtant nous avait annonc\u00e9 ses prix dans un anglais parfait, peine \u00e0 trouver ses mots et parle avec un accent incompr\u00e9hensible. Apr\u00e8s quelques minutes, nous lui proposons de switcher en espagnol, bien plus compr\u00e9hensible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

While it has rained the last few days, we are entitled to beautiful sunshine and reasonable warmth. Mosquitoes are of course at the appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour begins, the guide, who had announced his prices in perfect English, struggles to find his words and speaks with an incomprehensible accent. After a few minutes, we offer him to switch to Spanish, much more understandable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Les paroles du guide ont peu d’importance devant la beaut\u00e9 du paysage qui se d\u00e9voile devant nos yeux. Les photos vue et livres lus jusqu’ici ne rendent pas honneur au sentiment ressenti en arrivant aux plateformes d’observation. J’avoue avoir vers\u00e9 ma petite larme en voyant la huiti\u00e8me merveille du monde antique et nouveau. Que voulez-vous, je suis une grande sentimentale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les lamas nous attendent, broutant tranquillement. Le soleil est haut et l’air agr\u00e9ablement chaud. Le guide parle de Pachakutec et de son p\u00e8re. Nous n’\u00e9coutons que d’une oreille. Ana s’est endormie, Fanny observe les alentours et mon regard est fix\u00e9 sur les lamas qui essaient vainement de brouter en paix, alors que les touristes les poursuivent pour prendre ds photos. J’avoue avoir moi-m\u00eame tenter d’en prendre une ou deux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Au bout d’une vingtaine de minutes, le guide finit son expos\u00e9 apprit par c\u0153ur et nous am\u00e8ne \u00e0 l’endroit d’o\u00f9 peut \u00eatre pris la photo la plus connue du Machupicchu. L\u00e0, il s’improvise photographe et prend des photos de qualit\u00e9 discutable. Nous en prenons d’autres en parall\u00e8le. Au bout de quelques minutes, les autres touristes impatientent et nous reprenons notre tour jusqu’au prochain point de photo obligatoire. La visite continue ainsi pendant 3h et demi. Le guide nous explique les fonctions des diff\u00e9rentes pierres et maisons, temples et cloisons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The words of the guide have little importance in front of the beauty of the landscape that unfolds before our eyes. The photos seen and books read so far do not honor the feeling felt when arriving at the observation platforms. I confess to shed my little tear when I saw the eighth wonder of the ancient and new world. What do you want, I am a great sentimental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The llamas are waiting for us, grazing quietly. The sun is high and the air pleasantly warm. The guide talks about Pachakutec and his father. We only listen with one ear. Ana has fallen asleep, Fanny is watching the surroundings and my gaze is fixed on the llamas who are trying, in vain, to graze in peace, while the tourists chase them to take pictures. I admit, I have tried to take one or two myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After about twenty minutes, the guide finishes his presentation learned by heart and brings us to the place from where can be taken the most famous photo of the Machu Picchu. There, he improvises himself as a photographer and takes photos of questionable quality. We are taking others in parallel. After a few minutes, the other tourists get impatient and we resume our tour until the next mandatory photo point. The visit continues for 3 and a half hours. The guide explains the functions of the different stones and houses, temples and partitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le site connu sous le nom de Machupicchu, donc le village et les temples, sont en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 situ\u00e9s sur la montagne Huana Picchu, la vielle montagne. Le Machu Picchu (jeune montagne), se situe en face. Le Huana Picchu a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 par les incas pour plusieurs raisons : Sa hauteur (les offrandes faites \u00e0 son sommet \u00e9taient plus proches des dieux), sa forme (la forme d’un visage inca quand on regarde de cot\u00e9, voir image ci-dessous) et sa position cach\u00e9e et donc strat\u00e9gique. Apr\u00e8s l’abandon de la cit\u00e9 par les incas vers 1529, la nature a repris ses droits et recouverte enti\u00e8rement la ville, la cachant aux yeux des randonneurs et des chercheurs. C’est seulement en 1911 que le chercheur Hiram Bingham d\u00e9couvrit, par hasard, ce lieu myst\u00e9rieux, et depuis on cherche encore \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir tous ces secrets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The site known as Machu Picchu, so the village and temples, are actually located on the Huana Picchu mountain, the old mountain. Machu Picchu (young mountain), is located opposite. Huana Picchu was selected by the Incas for several reasons: Its height (the offerings made at its top were closer to the gods), its shape (the shape of an Inca face when looking from the side, see image below) and its hidden and therefore strategic position. After the abandonment of the city by the Incas around 1529, nature regained its rights and completely covered the city, hiding it from the eyes of hikers and researchers. It was only in 1911 that the researcher Hiram Bingham discovered, by chance, this mysterious place, and since then we have been still trying to discover all these secrets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s 3h et demie de visite intensive, de rappels du guide (on \u00e9coutait pas beaucoup) et de merveilles vues, nous avons pris le bus pour redescendre. Nos jambes, d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien malmen\u00e9e pendant cette journ\u00e9e, ne nous auraient pas support\u00e9 plus longtemps. Nous sommes donc arriv\u00e9es \u00e0 Aguas Calientes, le village en bas du Machupicchu et nous nous sommes assises dans un restaurant recommand\u00e9 par un agent de police, touchant certainement quelque chose pour envoyer des clients l\u00e0-bas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s des sandwiches \u00e0 l’alpaca et un empanada d\u00e9cevants, nous avons continuer notre chemin vers “La boulangerie de Paris” qui nous a attir\u00e9 avec de bonnes p\u00e2tisseries bien francaises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aguas Calientes (eaux chaudes) a une station de bains thermaux pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e d’une all\u00e9e de sculpture, et dans laquelle nous voulions aller nous reposer en cette fin de journ\u00e9e. Apr\u00e8s un bref passage dans le march\u00e9 artisanal, nous sommes donc all\u00e9es en direction des bains, mais …. Pas de maillots de bain ! Pas de probl\u00e8me ! Le p\u00e9ruviens ont la technique ! La location de maillots ! Tr\u00e8s attirant, n’est-pas ? Apr\u00e8s r\u00e9flexion, nous avons opter pour la location en gardant les sous-v\u00eatements en dessous… On est pas folles non plus !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9tour d’une heure et demi dans une bijouterie artisanale ” El Sara”, nous sommes donc enfin all\u00e9es dans les thermes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 3 and a half hours of intensive visit, reminders from the guide (we did not listen much) and wonderful views, we took the bus down. Our legs, already badly beaten during this day, would not have supported us any longer. So we arrived in Aguas Calientes, the village at the bottom of the Machu Picchu and sat in a restaurant recommended by a police officer, certainly getting something to send customers there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After disappointing alpaca sandwiches and empanada, we continued our way to “La boulangerie de Paris” which attracted us with good French pastries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aguas Calientes (hot waters) has a thermal bath resort preceded by a sculpture alley, and in which we wanted to go and rest at the end of the day. After a brief stint in the craft market, we went to the baths, but…. No swimsuits! No problem! Peruvians have the technique! Swimsuits rental! Very attractive, isn’t it? After reflection, we opted for the rental by keeping the underwear underneath… We’re not crazy either!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a detour of an hour and a half in an artisanal jewelry store “El Sara”, we finally went to the thermal baths.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Malheureusement le bar a ferm\u00e9 \u00e0 21h et nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 oblig\u00e9 de trouver un endroit pour manger. Quelle joie de remanger des pizzas ! M\u00eame si elles \u00e9taient bizarres (avec des brocolis ! Pourquoi ?!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais il se fait tard et nous ne nous sommes pas encore enregistr\u00e9es \u00e0 l’h\u00f4tel, donc, en route !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons trouv\u00e9 l’h\u00f4tel le moins cher d’Aguas Calientes, qui \u00e9tait parfait, \u00e0 la seule exception que les prises n’\u00e9taient pas adaptables aux chargeurs de t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, d’appareils, mais pas non plus … Au s\u00e8che-cheveux fourni par l’h\u00f4tel !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une douche chaude (enfin !) et une bonne nuit plus tard, nous avons visit\u00e9 plus en profondeur Aguas, qui est un village extr\u00eamement touristique. Nous avons fait le tour des boutiques, des caf\u00e9s et chercher la poste pendant plusieurs 10\u00e8nes de minutes, demander \u00e0 plusieurs personnes, avant que quelqu’un ne veuille bien nous dire qu’il n’y a plus de poste \u00e0 Aguas !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un rapide (1 heure) d\u00e9tour par la bijouterie \u00ab El Sara \u00bb et par le magasin de fruits et nous sommes rentr\u00e9es \u00e0 Mandor pour arriver avant la nuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A notre retour, repas rapide et fin de ce super Week-end !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately the bar closed at 9pm and we were forced to find a place to eat. What a joy to eat pizza again! Even if they were weird (with broccoli! Why?!).
But it’s getting late and we haven’t checked in at the hotel yet, so, on the way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We found the cheapest hotel in Aguas Calientes, which was perfect, with the only exception that the sockets were not adaptable to phone chargers, devices, but also not … The hairdryer provided by the hotel!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hot shower (finally!) and a good night later, we visited more deeply Aguas, which is an extremely touristy village. We went around the shops, cafes and looked for the post office for several 10 minutes, ask several people, before someone wanted to tell us that there is no more post in Aguas!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A quick (1 hour) detour to the jewelry store “El Sara” and the fruit shop and we returned to Mandor to arrive before night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On our return, quick meal and end of this great Weekend!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
