Le d\u00e9part de Mandor fix\u00e9 \u00e0 12 :00, nous d\u00e9collons \u00e0 13 :00 pour nous rendre \u00e0 Hidroelectrica (7km de Mandor) afin de prendre un colectivo d’une heure pour arriver \u00e0 Santa Teresa. Comme le voyage \u00e9tait un peu improvis\u00e9, nous n’avons pas r\u00e9serv\u00e9 d’h\u00f4tel, et avons, par pr\u00e9caution, emmen\u00e9 une tente, qui nous aura bien cass\u00e9 les bonbons en plus d’avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 inutile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1h30 de marche plus tard nous arrivons \u00e0 Hidro et sommes directement accost\u00e9es par des conducteurs nous proposant leurs prix. 6 soles pour aller \u00e0 Santa Teresa, le deal est pass\u00e9. 1h de route caboss\u00e9e plus tard, il nous d\u00e9pose sur la place principale totalement vide de la ville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une femme arrive en courant vers nous pour nous proposer une chambre dans son h\u00f4tel, une autre arrive juste derri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous avons march\u00e9 le long de l’all\u00e9e principale avant de trouver un h\u00f4tel d’apparence convenable. (Qui s’est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 \u00eatre un enfer…).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La ville entour\u00e9e de montagnes magnifique est morte … Les chiens errants sillonnent les rues et le peu de personnes pr\u00e9sentes nous observent bizarrement. Alors que Fanny et Ana adooorent cette ville, moi je la trouve plut\u00f4t hostile et (d\u00e9sol\u00e9e) moche. Mais la ville n’est pas exactement la raison pour laquelle nous sommes venue \u00e0 Santa Teresa. La raison principale, ce sont les bains thermaux de Cocalmayo !! Qui ont la r\u00e9putation d’\u00eatre bien meilleurs que ce d’Aguas Calientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The departure from Mandor set at 12:00, we take off at 13:00 to go to Hidroelectrica (7km from Mandor) to take a one-hour colectivo to arrive in Santa Teresa. As the trip was a little improvised, we did not book a hotel, and as a precaution, took a tent, which will have broken our sweets in addition to having been useless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1h30 walk later we arrive in Hidro and are directly accosted by drivers offering us their prices. 6 soles to go to Santa Teresa, the deal is passed. 1 hour of bumpy road later, he drops us off on the main square totally empty of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One woman comes running towards us to offer us a room in her hotel, another arrives just behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We walked along the main driveway before finding a suitable looking hotel. (Which turned out to be hell…).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The city surrounded by beautiful mountains is dead… Stray dogs roam the streets and the few people present observe us strangely. While Fanny and Ana love this city, I find it rather hostile and (sorry) ugly. But the city is not exactly why we came to Santa Teresa. The main reason is the thermal baths of Cocalmayo!! That have the reputation of being much better than this of Aguas Calientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mais pour y aller seulement 2 possibilit\u00e9s : en mototaxi ou \u00e0 pied. Nous avons bien-s\u00fbr choisit … D’y aller \u00e0 pied. Les paysages sont impressionnants ! Un m\u00e9lange d’Irlande et de Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande. Le seul probl\u00e8me : Un glissement de terrain bloque une grande partie de la route, il faut donc escalader un peu, et ne pas avoir peu de salir ses chaussures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir brav\u00e9 toutes ces \u00e9preuves, nous arrivons enfin aux bains, qui malgr\u00e9 l’interdiction de boire de la biere dans les bassins, se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent \u00eatre, en effet, plus agr\u00e9ables que ceux d’Aguas. La vue est tout simplement magnifique, il n’y a quasiment personne et nous pouvons rester aussi longtemps que nous voulons, prendre des photos etc. …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But to go there only 2 possibilities: by motorcycle taxi or on foot. We have of course chosen … To go there on foot. The landscapes are impressive! A mix of Ireland and New Zealand. The only problem: A landslide blocks a large part of the road, so you have to climb a little, and not have little to dirty your shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After having braved all these trials, we finally arrive at the baths, which despite the prohibition to drink beer in the pools, turn out to be, indeed, more pleasant than those of Aguas. The view is simply beautiful, there is almost no one and we can stay as long as we want, take pictures etc. …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est seulement vers 19h30, dans la nuit noire que nous nous d\u00e9cidons \u00e0 retourner en ville, pensant trouver une mototaxi \u00e0 la sortie. Que nenni, apr\u00e8s avoir retraverser les montagnes de caillasse et de boue avec une lampe torche (pas si facile), plus aucune voiture n’attend et retourner en ville \u00e0 pied … bof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Par chance un gars qui a fait l’\u00e9pop\u00e9e avec nous est venu en voiture et nous propose de nous ramener \u00e0 la civilisation. 15 mins plus tard, nous sommes assises dans un restaurant \u00e0 commander des pizzas et des lasagnes (que je n’ai pas mang\u00e9 parce que je ne me sentais pas bien !).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s une nuit terrible et un r\u00e9veil \u00e9nergique (les autres clients ont malencontreusement oubli\u00e9 qu’ils n’\u00e9taient pas seuls au monde : t\u00e9l\u00e9 \u00e0 fond, cris et musiques horribles d\u00e8s 6h du matin), nous avons march\u00e9 un peu en ville et avons refait notre plein de fruit, avant de reprendre le colectivo (beaucoup moins potable qu’\u00e0 l’aller) \u00e0 15h.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

 It is only around 7:30 pm, in the dark night that we decide to return to the city, thinking of finding a motorcycle taxi at the exit. That nenni, after crossing the mountains of pebbles and mud with a flashlight (not so easy), no more car is waiting and return to the city on foot … nah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luckily a guy who made the epic with us came by car and offers to take us back to civilization. 15 mins later, we sat in a restaurant ordering pizza and lasagna (which I didn’t eat because I didn’t feel well!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a terrible night and an energetic awakening (the other customers unfortunately forgot that they were not alone in the world: TV full, screams and horrible music from 6am), we walked a little in town and refilled our fruit, before resuming the collectivo (much less drinkable than on the way) at 3pm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Hirdoelectrica \u00e0 16h15 et marche de retour vers Mandor o\u00f9 nous avons rencontr\u00e9 Rosa, la nouvelle femme de chambre !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Arrival in Hirdoelectrica at 16:15 and walk back to Mandor where we met Rosa, the new maid!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
