En effet, depuis la sortie \u00e0 Santa Teresa, je n’ai eu aucune journ\u00e9e de libre. Je les gardais pour ce moment … 9 jours complets de libres !!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le plan \u00e9tait clair et simple : Avec Fanny, nous avions d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de nous retrouver \u00e0 Cusco, d’aller aux montagnes color\u00e9es et dans 2 parcs aux alentours de Cusco, puis de prendre un bus de nuit vers Arequipa, o\u00f9 nous resterions 3 jours avant que je ne parte seule \u00e0 Yanque pour faire une randonn\u00e9e \u00e0 cheval de 2 jours, pour enfin retourner \u00e0 Arequipa, puis Cusco et enfin, Mandor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je pars donc le 21 \u00e0 11h25 de Mandor en direction de la station Hidroelectrica \u00e0 7km, afin de prendre un collectivo de 6h vers Cusco. Apr\u00e8s un tr\u00e8\u00e8\u00e8s long trajet sur une route digne des pires chemins caillouteux en Ard\u00e8che, j’arrive \u00e0 20h30 \u00e0 la place des armes, pr\u00e8s de l’hostel o\u00f9 Fanny m’attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je n’ai pas fait long feu, ce soir, la journ\u00e9e ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9prouvante et le d\u00e9part du lendemain \u00e9tant planifi\u00e9 \u00e0 4h30 du matin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, since the outing to Santa Teresa, I have not had any free day. I kept them for this moment… 9 full days of free !!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan was clear and simple: With Fanny, we decided to meet in Cusco, go to the colorful mountains and 2 parks around Cusco, then take a night bus to Arequipa, where we would stay 3 days before I left alone in Yanque to do a 2-day horseback ride, to finally return to Arequipa, then Cusco and finally, Mandor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I leave on the 21st at 11:25 am from Mandor in the direction of the Hidroelectrica station at 7km, in order to take a 6h collectivo towards Cusco. After a veeeeery long journey on a road worthy of the worst stony paths in the Ard\u00e8che, I arrive at 20:30 at the Plaza de Armas, near the hostel where Fanny is waiting for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I did not last long tonight, the day having been particularly trying and the departure of the next day being scheduled at 4:30 in the morning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e9veil \u00e0 4 h et d\u00e9part en collectivo \u00e0 4h30. Apr\u00e8s 2h de route, nous nous sommes arr\u00eat\u00e9s pour d\u00e9jeuner dans un petit resto paum\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notre destination n’est pas les montagnes color\u00e9es les plus hautes et les plus connues, parce que celles-ci sont ferm\u00e9es en ce moment, mais une montagne plus petite et plus accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous sommes arriv\u00e9s vers 9h et avons commencer l’ascension en faisant des pauses r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement sur les paliers d’observation. Le soleil sortant de temps en temps pour \u00e9clairer le paysage multicolore \u00e0 nos pieds. Apr\u00e8s 1h30 de mont\u00e9e \u00e0 4900m de hauteur, nous avons pu profiter de la vue qui valait de loin les efforts et le manque d’oxyg\u00e8ne !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s 2 heures \u00e0 marcher, prendre des photos et admirer le paysage, le guide nous donne le choix de continuer notre mont\u00e9e jusqu’\u00e0 la for\u00eat de roches ou de redescendre vers le mini-bus. Nous avons donc continu\u00e9 \u00e0 monter vers le sommet de la montagne, en effet recouverte de rochers ! Au bord de l’asphyxie nous avons pu grimper en \u00e9quilibre sur les \u00e9normes rochers et prendre la pose devant une \u00e9tendue \u00e0 7 couleurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La descente s’est faite lentement et avec beaucoup de regards en arri\u00e8re. Le retour s’est fait dans le silence et le repos les plus complets. Nous avons mang\u00e9 le repas du midi \u00e0 15h, puis nous sommes retourn\u00e9s \u00e0 Cusco vers 17h. Juste assez t\u00f4t pour aller faire 2-3 courses, dont des empanadas, avant de rentrer \u00e0 l’h\u00f4tel et de profiter de la salade qu’a pr\u00e9par\u00e9 Fanny. Ensuite, douche et dodo !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Wake up at 4 am and departure in collectivo at 4:30 am. After 2 hours of driving, we stopped for lunch in a small, lost restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 
Our destination is not the highest and best known colorful mountains, because these are closed at the moment, but a smaller and more accessible mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived around 9am and started the ascent by taking regular breaks on the observation levels. The sun comes out from time to time to illuminate the multicolored landscape at our feet. After 1h30 of climb to 4900m high, we were able to enjoy the view that was far worth the effort and the lack of oxygen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 2 hours of walking, taking pictures and admiring the scenery, the guide gives us the choice to continue our climb to the rock forest or back down to the mini-bus.So we continued to climb to the top of the mountain, indeed covered with rocks! At the edge of asphyxiation we were able to climb in balance on the huge rocks and pose in front of a 7-color expanse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The descent was slow and with a lot of looks back. The return was made in the most complete silence and rest. We ate lunch at 3pm and then returned to Cusco around 5pm. Just early enough to go for 2-3 errands, including empanadas, before returning to the hotel and enjoying the salad that Fanny has prepared. Then shower and sleep!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e9veil \u00e0 4 :20 (\u00e7a s\u2019am\u00e9liore !) pour un d\u00e9part \u00e0 4 :50, de nouveau \u00e0 bord d\u2019un collectivo ! Cette fois-ci direction l\u2019ouest de Cusco vers le lac Humantay. C\u2019est un lagon bleu, \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la montagne. On y vient \u00e0 pied ou en collectivo. Bon nous avons clairement choisi le collectivo (faut pas d\u00e9conner non plus !). Donc apr\u00e8s 4 longues heures de route nous avons pu faire le choix : Monter au lagon \u00e0 pied ou \u00e0 cheval ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J\u2019ai pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment parler de mon intention d\u2019aller faire une randonn\u00e9e de 2-3 jours dans le canyon de Colca, mais suite \u00e0 certains probl\u00e8mes de logistique, de temps et de finances, j\u2019ai d\u00fb abandonner l\u2019id\u00e9e. Pour compenser un minimum (et pas du tout par manque de motivation) j\u2019ai donc choisi de monter \u00e0 cheval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s une bonne heure \u00e0 \u00eatre tir\u00e9e par la bride comme une enfant (\u00e0 quoi je m\u2019attendais aussi ?!), le guide nous a fait mettre pied \u00e0 terre et nous avons monter les derniers 50 m \u00e0 pied, les chevaux ne pouvant pas aller plus loin. Et l\u00e0. Quelle sensation incroyable en voyant le lagon turquoise entour\u00e9 de montagnes vertes et blanche. La neige recouvre la plus haute montagne et les truites qui sautent dans l\u2019eau. Un spectacle magnifique. Les contrastes \u00e9taient photoshop\u00e9ens et, vu que nous sommes arriv\u00e9es en premi\u00e8res, nous avons pu profiter de cette vue incroyable avant qu\u2019une centaine de touristes assi\u00e8gent le lieu. Nous sommes rest\u00e9es 1h30 \u00e0 admirer l\u2019endroit avant de devoir retourner au collectivo et \u00e0 Cusco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous sommes arriv\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4tel vers 18h et avons eu le temps de nous poser un peu avant de repartir prendre un bus pour Arequipa \u00e0 20h. Nous avons pos\u00e9 nos fesses dans ce \u00e9ni\u00e8me bus, cette fois-ci pour 10 heures. Mais attention ! Un bus de luxe ! S\u2019il vous plait !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Wake up at 4:20 am (it’s getting better!) for a start at 4:50 am, again aboard a collectivo! This time head west of Cusco towards Lake Humantay. It is a blue lagoon, next to the mountain. We come on foot or in collectivo. Well we clearly chose the collectivo (don’t mess around either!). So after 4 long hours of driving we were able to make the choice: Climb to the lagoon on foot or on horseback? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I previously talked about my intention to go on a 2-3 day hike in the Colca Canyon, but due to some logistical, time and financial problems, I had to give up the idea.To compensate for a minimum (and not at all for lack of motivation), I chose to go up by horse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a good hour of being pulled by the bridle like a child (what did I expect too?!), the guide made us set foot on the ground and we climbed the last 50 m on foot, the horses could not go further. And there. What an amazing feeling to see the turquoise lagoon surrounded by green and white mountains. Snow covers the highest mountain and trout jumping into the water. A magnificent sight. The contrasts were Photoshopped and, since we arrived first, we were able to enjoy this incredible view before a hundred tourists besieged the place. We stayed 1h30 admiring the place before having to return to the collectivo and Cusco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at the hotel around 6pm and had time to settle down a bit before leaving to take a bus to Arequipa at 8pm. We put our buttocks on this umpteenth bus, this time for 10 hours. But beware! A luxury bus! Please!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Arequipa \/ Arrival at Arequipa – 24.03<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

10h plus tard, nous arrivons \u00e0 Arequipa. Le voyage f\u00fbt quelque peu laborieux. Rester 10 h dans un petit endroit clos avec 30 personnes qui puent des pieds et transpirent en harmonie, \u00e7a donne un peu la gerbe. Enfin bon ! Cet enfer termin\u00e9 juste avant que je n\u2019offre le contenu de mon estomac sur un plateau-repas \u00e0 Fanny, nous avons pris un taxi direction l\u2019\u00ab Auberge espagnole \u00bb.  Notre espagnol semble rouill\u00e9 car le taxi s\u2019arr\u00eate devant un opticien. Quelque peu d\u00e9contenanc\u00e9es, nous aurions peut-\u00eatre d\u00fb utiliser les lunettes du pr\u00e9sentoir pour voir que l\u2019auberge se trouvait dans l\u2019arri\u00e8re-boutique. Une auberge bien jolie en ext\u00e9rieur avec un g\u00e9rant des plus d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able et flippant. Quand nous avons enfin pu arriver \u00e0 notre chambre, quelle d\u00e9ception ! Les draps trou\u00e9s, le plafond fissur\u00e9, la douche sale\u2026. Rien \u00e0 voir avec les photos de Booking.  Crev\u00e9e par le voyage, je suis all\u00e9e me coucher apr\u00e8s une bonne douche, pendant ce temps, Fanny est all\u00e9e se poser dans un caf\u00e9 pour travailler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ne pouvant pas dormir et voulant laisser \u00e0 Fanny assez de temps pour bosser toute seule, je me suis balad\u00e9e en ville et me suis pos\u00e9e dans un bon vieux Starbucks avec un caf\u00e9 macchiato caramel et un bon bouquin. Je suis rest\u00e9e l\u00e0 2 heures avant de partir \u00e0 la recherche de Fanny : J\u2019avais tr\u00e8s faim. Je l\u2019ai retrouv\u00e9e dans un bar \u00e0 jus de fruits un peu bizarre et nous avons d\u00e9cider d\u2019un commun accord d\u2019aller se faire un bon vieux Mcdo bien gras sur la place principale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous sommes rest\u00e9es des heures \u00e0 jouer au petit bac en observant les passants. Cette ville pourrait se trouver en Espagne vu le style d\u2019architecture et les gens. Apr\u00e8s avoir mis la p\u00e2t\u00e9 \u00e0 Fanny, nous sommes retourn\u00e9es au Starbucks pour qu\u2019elle puisse continuer \u00e0 travailler, et moi \u00e0 lire. Nous y sommes rest\u00e9es jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la tomb\u00e9e de la nuit, puis nous sommes sorties visiter le centre de nuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une soir\u00e9e importante, puisque qu\u2019il y avait le match d\u2019\u00e9limination pour les mondiales entre le P\u00e9rou et l\u2019Uruguay. On s\u2019est pos\u00e9es dans une brasserie qui proposait des bi\u00e8res au go\u00fbt chocolat ou maracuja et des tequenos au fromage. Apr\u00e8s la cuisante d\u00e9faite du P\u00e9rou, nous sommes rentr\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4tel et dodo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

10am later we arrive in Arequipa. The journey was somewhat laborious. Staying 10 hours in a small enclosed place with 30 people who stink of feet and sweat in harmony, it gives a little sheaf. Finally good! This hell ended just before I offered the contents of my stomach on a meal tray to Fanny, we took a taxi to the “Spanish Inn”. Our Spanish seems rusty as the taxi stops in front of an optician. Somewhat taken aback, we might have had to use the glasses on the display to see that the hostel was in the back room. A very pretty hostel outside with a manager of the most unpleasant and creepy. When we were finally able to get to our room, what a disappointment! The sheets with holes, the cracked ceiling, the dirty shower\u2026. Nothing to do with Booking’s photos. Punctured by the trip, I went to bed after a good shower, meanwhile Fanny went to land in a caf\u00e9 to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not being able to sleep and wanting to give Fanny enough time to work on my own, I walked around town and landed in a good old Starbucks with a caramel macchiato coffee and a good book. I stayed there for 2 hours before going in search of Fanny: I was very hungry. I found her in a weird juice bar and we decided by mutual agreement to go make a good old fat Mcdo in the main square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We stayed for hours playing the small bac while observing the passers-by. This city could be in Spain given the style of architecture and the people. After putting the pie on Fanny, we went back to Starbucks so she could continue working, and I could read. We stayed there until nightfall, then we went out to visit the center at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An important evening, since there was the elimination match for the worlds between Peru and Uruguay. We settled in a brewery that offered beers with a chocolate or maracuja taste and cheese tequenos. After the crushing defeat of Peru, we went back to the hotel and went to sleep.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Grasse matin\u00e9e interrompue \u00e0 7h par la musique du g\u00e9rant de l\u2019h\u00f4tel, qui n\u2019a visiblement pas comprit que les gens venaient pour dormir. On est parties \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019un caf\u00e9 \u00e0 emport\u00e9 et de sandwich pour d\u00e9jeuner sur la place apr\u00e8s \u00eatre pass\u00e9es dans plusieurs boutiques. Apr\u00e8s notre d\u00e9jeuner, nous avons errer dans la ville, puis nous sommes dirig\u00e9es vers le fameux couvent de Sainte Catherine, connu pour ses couleurs rouge et bleue. Le calme et l\u2019\u00e9nergie du lieu sont incroyable. Nous avons eu la chance d\u2019arriver avant la mar\u00e9e de touristes quotidienne et avons donc pu prendre tout notre temps pour lire, visiter, prendre des photos pour le site de Fanny et pour notre propre plaisir aussi (on ne va pas se le cacher). Une visite de presque 4h incroyable. Le couvent est une mini ville dans la ville d\u2019Arequipa et abrite encore 25 s\u0153urs entre 17 et 97 ans, qui font, en dehors des pri\u00e8res et autres obligations religieuses, de la poterie, de la raffinerie d\u2019huiles essentielles etc \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vers 15h30, nous sortons enfin, affam\u00e9es mais avec l\u2019envie de re rentrer dans le couvent. Un guide fran\u00e7ais nous conseille un petit caf\u00e9\/restaurant un peu en dehors de la place centrale : Le Kafi Wasi. J\u2019ai mang\u00e9 l\u00e0-bas un des meilleurs cordon-bleu de ma vie (j\u2019exag\u00e8re \u00e0 peine !). Et nous y sommes rester jusqu\u2019au soir. Nous voulions aller dans un restaurant de sushis, car apparemment : au P\u00e9rou, les sushis en valent le coup. Ben pas dans ce resto l\u00e0 en tout cas ! Pas incroyable et plut\u00f4t cher, on est sorties apr\u00e8s un petit round de petit-bac.  On est rentr\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4tel et le g\u00e9rant nous a directement saut\u00e9 dessus, nous demandant de lui payer la nuit suivante. N\u2019ayant plus d\u2019argent, on est ressorties \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019un ATM. Nous en avons trouv\u00e9 2 : Dans le premier, un homme \u00e0 l\u2019air et aux mimiques bizarres a referm\u00e9 la porte derri\u00e8re nous, nous disant de retirer, lui allait faire le guet. Autant dire qu\u2019on est parties rapidement. Au deuxi\u00e8me, nous avons pu retirer et sur le chemin du retour nous sommes pass\u00e9es devant un magasin de v\u00eatement assez sympa et surtout encore ouvert \u00e0 21h30. Ni une ni deux, on entre et commence notre shopping. Le magasin ferme \u00e0 22h et nous d\u00e9cidons de revenir le lendemain. Nous retournons donc \u00e0 notre super h\u00f4tel, retrouver notre monsieur creepy et on termine la soir\u00e9e devant un film.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sleeping in at 7am interrupted by the music of the hotel manager, who obviously did not understand that people came to sleep. We went in search of a takeaway coffee and sandwich for lunch in the square after passing through several shops. After our lunch, we wandered around the city, then headed to the famous convent of St. Catherine, known for its red and blue colors. The calm and energy of the place is amazing. We were lucky enough to arrive before the daily tide of tourists and so were able to take all our time to read, visit, take pictures for Fanny’s site and for our own pleasure too (we will not hide it). An incredible 4-hour tour. The convent is a mini town in the city of Arequipa and still houses 25 sisters between 17 and 97 years old, who do, apart from prayers and other religious obligations, pottery, refinery of essential oils etc \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 3:30 pm, we finally leave, hungry but with the desire to return to the convent. A French guide recommends a small caf\u00e9\/restaurant a little outside the central square: Le Kafi Wasi. I ate there one of the best cordon-bleu of my life (I’m hardly exaggerating!). And we stayed there until the evening. We wanted to go to a sushi restaurant, because apparently: in Peru, sushi is worth it. Well, not in this restaurant there in any case! Not incredible and rather expensive, we went out after a small round of small-bac. We went back to the hotel and the manager jumped on us directly, asking us to pay him the next night. Having no more money, we went out in search of an ATM. We found 2 of them:Dans le premier, un homme \u00e0 l\u2019air et aux mimiques bizarres a referm\u00e9 la porte derri\u00e8re nous, nous disant de retirer, lui allait faire le guet. Autant dire qu\u2019on est parties rapidement. Au deuxi\u00e8me, nous avons pu retirer et sur le chemin du retour nous sommes pass\u00e9es devant un magasin de v\u00eatement assez sympa et surtout encore ouvert \u00e0 21h30. Ni une ni deux, on entre et commence notre shopping. Le magasin ferme \u00e0 22h et nous d\u00e9cidons de revenir le lendemain. Apr\u00e8s un petit d\u00e9j excellent, une journ\u00e9e bien tranquille s\u2019annonce avec visite du march\u00e9 d\u2019Arequipa : des b\u00e2timents et des couloirs de fringues, des fruits et l\u00e9gumes \u00e0 ne plus en finir. Apr\u00e8s avoir fait un peu de shopping, nous d\u00e9cidons de retourner dans notre caf\u00e9 favori pour y rester pour le reste de l\u2019apr\u00e8s-midi. Le soir on se fait un petit festin sur le rooftop de l\u2019h\u00f4tel (apr\u00e8s une autre confrontation avec le g\u00e9rant bizarre). Au menu : Vin, carottes, fromage, pain et danse ! Et un petit film pour finir la soir\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After an excellent breakfast, a quiet day promises to be a visit to the Arequipa market: buildings and corridors of clothes, fruits and vegetables to never end. After doing some shopping, we decide to go back to our favorite caf\u00e9 to stay there for the rest of the afternoon. In the evening we have a little feast on the rooftop of the hotel (after another confrontation with the weird manager). On the menu: Wine, carrots, cheese, bread and dance! R\u00e9veil en musique une fois de plus ! C\u2019est mon dernier jour \u00e0 Arequipa, Fanny va rester un peu plus mais changer d\u2019h\u00f4tel, nous nous rendons donc \u00e0 son nouvel h\u00f4tel qui annonce avoir une baignoire. Sur le chemin, on prend un casse-croute. L\u2019entr\u00e9e de ce deuxi\u00e8me h\u00f4tel est \u2026. Miteuse. La r\u00e9ception est sale, les portraits sont de travers. Une femme ayant l\u2019air d\u2019avoir fum\u00e9 son dernier joint un quart d\u2019heure plus t\u00f4t nous ouvre et nous demande si on peut attendre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 14h30 pour entrer dans la chambre. On d\u00e9pose donc nos affaires et on repart pour aller au march\u00e9 central pour acheter quelques fruits. On d\u00e9cide de se poser dans un resto pour midi, puis de passer dans un bubble tea pour le dessert. De l\u00e0 direction l\u2019h\u00f4tel vers 15h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin Fanny peut s\u2019enregistrer, nous d\u00e9couvrons donc la fameuse chambre : Des murs craquel\u00e9s oranges, un lit avec des cupidons et des c\u0153urs sur la t\u00eate-de-lit, des luminaires entrain de tomber et pas d\u2019eau froide\u2026 Ce qui ici est quand-m\u00eame rare, c\u2019est plus souvent : pas d\u2019eau chaude ! Adieu bain tant souhait\u00e9 ! On d\u00e9cide d\u2019aller voir le capharna\u00fcm qui sert de cuisine (ou de d\u00e9potoir, au choix) pour se faire un th\u00e9 et j\u2019en profite pour demander \u00e0 la g\u00e9rante de m\u2019appeler un taxi pour aller \u00e0 la station de bus le soir-m\u00eame. J\u2019avais quand-m\u00eame de gros doutes sur le fait qu\u2019elle ait capt\u00e9 ma demande, mais bon. Dans la cuisine un gars un peu strange commence \u00e0 nous faire la causette. Aussi vite que possible, on s\u2019excuse et on sort pour manger nos restes de pain et fromage sur la place en face de l\u2019h\u00f4tel pour discuter un peu. Plus tard, nous rentrons et je redemande \u00e0 la g\u00e9rante si elle a bien appel\u00e9 un taxi pour moi, elle m\u2019assure que oui et se pr\u00e9cipite sur son t\u00e9l\u00e9phone. 15 min plus tard, elle m\u2019appelle, le taxi est arriv\u00e9. Un dernier aurevoir \u00e0 Fanny et le m\u2019en vais prendre le bus de retour pour Cusco. Dans le bus je suis \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u2019un fran\u00e7ais venu avec 3 potes, ce qui aura son importance plus tard.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Wake up to music once again! This is my last day in Arequipa, Fanny will stay a little more but change hotels, so we go to her new hotel which announces to have a bathtub. On the way, we take a snack. The entrance to this second hotel is\u2026. Shabby. The reception is dirty, the portraits are crooked. A woman who looks like she smoked her last joint a quarter of an hour earlier opens us and asks us if we can wait until 2:30 pm to enter the room. So we drop off our belongings and go back to the central market to buy some fruit. We decide to sit in a restaurant for lunch, then switch to a bubble tea for dessert. From there direction the hotel around 3pm.

Finally Fanny can check in, so we discover the famous room: Orange cracked walls, a bed with cupids and hearts on the headboard, falling light fixtures and no cold water\u2026 What is still rare here is more often: no hot water! Goodbye bath so desired! We decide to go see the capernaum which serves as a kitchen (or dump, of your choice) to make a tea and I take the opportunity to ask the manager to call me a taxi to go to the bus station the same evening. I still had big doubts about the fact that she had captured my request, but hey. In the kitchen a strange guy starts chatting with us. As quickly as possible, we apologize and go out to eat our leftover bread and cheese in the square in front of the hotel to chat a little. Later, we come back and I ask the manager again if she called a taxi for me, she assures me that yes and rushes to her phone. 15 min later, she calls me, the taxi has arrived. One last goodbye to Fanny and the me will take the bus back to Cusco. Aaaah quel r\u00e9veil ! \u00c0 6:00 apr\u00e8s une nuit assez compliqu\u00e9e, puisque ballot\u00e9e par le roulement du bus. Je regarde sur Maps.me, mais c\u2019est tr\u00e8s \u00e9trange, le GPS me dit que nous sommes encore \u00e0 2h de Cuzco alors que nous devions justement arriver \u00e0 6 :00 ! Quel \u00e9tonnement quand j\u2019ai remarqu\u00e9 que le bus ne roule m\u00eame pas ! Je regarde par la fen\u00eatre : une file de bus et voiture attendent devant nous ! Un bouchon \u00e0 6h du matin ? C\u2019est \u00e9trange. Plus \u00e9trange encore : La foule de personnes qui marche de chaque c\u00f4t\u00e9 du bus ! Voyant que je ne suis pas la seule d\u00e9contenanc\u00e9e, je demande \u00e0 mon voisin, le fran\u00e7ais, s\u2019il connait la raison de notre arr\u00eat, il me fait signe que non. J\u2019entends ensuite une femme qui parle d\u2019un \u00ab palo \u00bb, je suis encore plus confuse, parce que la seule signification de \u00ab Palo \u00bb que je connais c\u2019est \u00ab b\u00e2ton \u00bb (je dis souvent aux chiens d\u2019aller chercher le \u00ab b\u00e2ton \u00bb). Mais je comprends peu \u00e0 peu qu\u2019il y a une autre signification : \u00ab gr\u00e8ve \u00bb !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir demander plus d\u2019infos aux passagers et au conducteur, qui n\u2019a pas cru utile de nous pr\u00e9venir, je suis quelque peu \u00e9nerv\u00e9e : Le conducteur n\u2019arr\u00eate pas de r\u00e9p\u00e9ter que nous ne sommes qu\u2019\u00e0 une heure de Cusco, et donc on peut marcher. 1 heure ce n\u2019est pas beaucoup\u2026. Quand on conduit un bus. En revanche \u00e0 pied\u2026 \u00e7a fait entre 5 et 7 heures !  On demande jusqu\u2019\u00e0 quelle heure est-ce que va durer la gr\u00e8ve, pour savoir si on attend dans le bus pour repartir. \u00ab Peut-\u00eatre ce midi, peut-\u00eatre ce soir \u00bb. En gros, rien \u00e0 foutre \u2026 Les Fran\u00e7ais d\u00e9cident de faire une sieste dans le bus avant de d\u00e9cider et avec une fille d\u2019argentine, on d\u00e9cide de marcher jusqu\u2019au village pour voir s\u2019il y a des taxis\/ collectivos ou autres. En arrivant \u00e0 l\u2019entr\u00e9e dudit village, nous voyons enfin ce qui bloque la route : Un \u00e9norme tas de terre, troncs et d\u00e9bris !  On retourne au bus avec l\u2019intension de prendre nos sacs et de se poser dans l\u2019herbe pour prendre une d\u00e9cision. Les Fran\u00e7ais immergent et on d\u00e9cide de marcher jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Cuzco. Un probl\u00e8me se pose (et oui sinon \u00e7a ne serait pas marrant) : Qu\u2019est-ce qu\u2019on fait des sacs ? On a tous des \u00e9normes sacs (voire valise). Le conducteur nous dit que la zone n\u2019est pas s\u00fbre, il y a beaucoup d\u2019attaques sur les \u00e9trangers, il nous conseille donc de laisser nos sacs dans le bus et de les r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer quand le bus arrivera \u00e0 Cuzco. En revanche, il ne peut pas nous dire quand est-ce qu\u2019il arrivera ! Pour moi, c\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9cid\u00e9 ! J\u2019ai un train \u00e0 3h du mat le lendemain, hors de question de risquer de ne pas avoir mon sac avec moi ! La troupe de fran\u00e7ais et le gars \u00e0 la valise me rejoigne l\u00e0-dessus. La fille d\u2019argentine, elle, laisse son sac dans le bus. On commence donc \u00e0 marcher, et, en s\u2019approchant du barrage, on voit qu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 un petit peu ouvert, pour faire passer quelques voitures ! Un gars nous propose de nous emmener tous les 6 \u00e0 Cuzco pour s\/.100.00 (25\u20ac), ce que nous acceptons tous bien s\u00fbr !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s une heure et quelque de route \u00e0 passer devant des militaires arm\u00e9s en camions, moto, \u00e0 pied ou \u00e0 cheval, on arrive enfin \u00e0 Cuzco vers 10h30 !!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je me rends donc \u00e0 mon h\u00f4tel (le Blacky Hostel, je recommande vraiment !) Je n\u2019ai plus d\u2019argent pour payer la nuit ! Et oui ! J\u2019ai pay\u00e9 le \u00ab taxi \u00bb pour moi et la fille d\u2019Argentine, qui n\u2019avait pas de monnaie !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donc je laisse mes affaires et je ressors, quelque peu \u00e9nerv\u00e9e, je savais qu\u2019il ne restait pas grand-chose sur mon compte, mais assez pour payer l\u2019h\u00f4tel, c\u2019\u00e9tait s\u00fbr. Je vais dans un premier ATM, les automates sont vides, un deuxi\u00e8me \u00e7a marche ! Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que la machine bug et avale ma carte ! Un peu paniqu\u00e9e je demande aux employ\u00e9s, ce que je dois faire, si \u00e7a arrive souvent, etc\u2026 Elles me disent d\u2019attendre un peu, normalement soit la carte ressort, soit je dois aller au si\u00e8ge de la banque pour demander de l\u2019aide\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pendant que j\u2019attends, je commence \u00e0 s\u00e9rieusement paniquer ! J\u2019\u00e9cris \u00e0 E. (qui est \u00e0 Cuzco \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0) pour lui demander, s\u2019il peut me d\u00e9panner au moins pour payer l\u2019h\u00f4tel ! Et si possible aussi pour manger, puisqu\u2019\u00e0 ce moment de l\u2019histoire, je n\u2019ai pas manger depuis 17h la veille. Et l\u00e0 un vieux monsieur commence \u00e0 me parler et \u00e0 me demander de l\u2019argent. Je commence \u00e0 pleurer en lui criant presque que je n\u2019ai absolument rien et qu\u2019il me foute la paix. Il commence \u00e0 rigoler et me propose de coucher avec lui pour de l\u2019argent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bon je suis vraiment saoul\u00e9e et apr\u00e8s pr\u00e8s de 5 mins \u00e0 crier, il me fout enfin la paix ! Et ma carte ressort de l\u2019automate avec un billet de s\/.20.00 (5\u20ac), exactement ce qu\u2019il me faut pour payer l\u2019h\u00f4tel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, E. me r\u00e9pond : \u00ab Non. \u00bb, en voulant \u00eatre dr\u00f4le. Je suis tellement \u00e9nerv\u00e9e, je pense avoir utiliser tout mon vocabulaire d\u2019Espagnol et quelques insultes en Quechua pour lui faire parvenir mon point de vue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je suis rentr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4tel, j\u2019ai pay\u00e9 et je me suis directement mise au lit. Vers 16h, E. a r\u00e9pondu qu\u2019il \u00e9tait chez un ami \u00e0 lui, mais que je devais le retrouver 1 h plus tard devant mon h\u00f4tel, et il m\u2019am\u00e8nerait m\u00eame un bout de g\u00e2teau ! Quel gentleman ! Bref j\u2019ai pu acheter de quoi manger, et avoir quelques r\u00e9serves, qui ne seront pas de trop (Vous allez voir ! Ce n\u2019est pas finit !). J\u2019ai r\u00e9serv\u00e9 mon taxi pour 3h le lendemain et suis directement all\u00e9e me coucher.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Aaaah what an awakening! At 6:00 after a rather complicated night, since tossed by the rolling of the bus. I look on Maps.me, but it’s very strange, the GPS tells me that we are still 2 hours from Cuzco when we were supposed to arrive at 6:00! What a surprise when I noticed that the bus doesn’t even run! I look out the window: a line of buses and cars are waiting in front of us! A cork at 6am? That’s weird. Even stranger: The crowd of people walking on either side of the bus! Seeing that I am not the only one taken aback, I ask my neighbor, the French, if he knows the reason for our stop, he signals me that no. Then I hear a woman talking about a “palo”, I’m even more confused, because the only meaning of “Palo” I know is “stick” (I often tell dogs to go get the “stick”). But I gradually understand that there is another meaning: “strike”!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After asking the passengers and the driver for more information, who did not think it useful to warn us, I am somewhat upset: The driver keeps repeating that we are only an hour from Cusco, and so we can walk. 1 hour is not much\u2026. When driving a bus. On the other hand on foot\u2026 it’s between 5 and 7 hours! We ask until what time will the strike last, to know if we wait on the bus to leave. “Maybe this lunch, maybe tonight.” Basically, nothing to fuck \u2026 The French decide to take a nap on the bus before deciding and with a girl from Argentina, we decide to walk to the village to see if there are taxis\/ collectivos or other. Arriving at the entrance of said village, we finally see what blocks the road: A huge pile of earth, trunks and debris!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We return to the bus with the intension to take our bags and land in the grass to make a decision. The French immersed themselves and we decided to walk to Cuzco. A problem arises (and yes otherwise it would not be funny): What do we do with the bags? We all have huge bags (or even suitcases). The driver tells us that the area is not safe, there are many attacks on foreigners, so he advises us to leave our bags on the bus and pick them up when the bus arrives in Cuzco. On the other hand, he can’t tell us when he will arrive! For me, it’s already decided! I have a train at 3am the next day, out of the question of risking not having my bag with me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French troupe and the guy with the suitcase join me on this. Argentina’s daughter leaves her bag on the bus. So we start walking, and, as we approach the dam, we see that it has been a little open, to pass a few cars! A guy offers to take us all 6 to Cuzco for s\/.100.00 (25\u20ac), which we all accept of course!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an hour and a few miles passing armed soldiers in trucks, motorcycles, on foot or on horseback, we finally arrive in Cuzco around 10:30 !!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I go to my hotel (the Blacky Hostel, I really recommend!) I have no more money to pay for the night! And yes! I paid for the “taxi” for myself and the girl from Argentina, who had no change!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I leave my things and I come out, somewhat upset, I knew there wasn’t much left in my account, but enough to pay for the hotel, that was for sure. I go to a first ATM, the automatons are empty, a second one works! Until the machine bug and swallow my card! A little panicked I ask the employees, what I have to do, if it happens often, etc \u2026 They tell me to wait a little, normally either the card comes out, or I have to go to the headquarters of the bank to ask for help\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While I’m waiting, I’m starting to seriously panic! I write to E. (who is in Cuzco at the time) to ask him, if he can help me at least to pay for the hotel! And if possible also to eat, since at this moment in history, I have not eaten since 5pm the day before. And there an old gentleman starts talking to me and asking me for money. I start crying, almost shouting at him that I have absolutely nothing and that he is giving me peace. He starts laughing and offers me to sleep with him for money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well I’m really drunk and after almost 5 mins screaming, he finally fucks me peace! And my card comes out of the ticket with a ticket of s\/.20.00 (5\u20ac), exactly what I need to pay for the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other side, E. replies, “No,” wanting to be funny. I’m so upset, I think I used all my Spanish vocabulary and some insults in Quechua to get my point of view to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I went back to the hotel, paid and went straight to bed. Around 4 p.m., E. replied that he was at a friend’s house, but that I had to meet him 1 hour later in front of my hotel, and he would even bring me a piece of cake! What a gentleman! In short I was able to buy something to eat, and have some reserves, which will not be too much (You will see! It’s not over!). I booked my taxi for 3am the next day and went straight to bed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e9veil dur dur \u00e0 2h30, je prends mon fameux taxi pour aller \u00e0 la gare de Inca Rail, d\u2019o\u00f9 je suis cens\u00e9e prendre un colectivo, qui me m\u00e8nera \u00e0 Ollataytambo, o\u00f9 il y aura un train qui me conduira tout droit vers Aguas Calientes, d\u2019o\u00f9 je n\u2019aurai plus qu\u2019\u00e0 marcher 40 min pour arriver \u00e0 Mandor et m\u2019effondrer sur mon lit d\u00e9finitivement. Facile comme plan, non ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aaaah, mais le destin est cruel et en arrivant \u00e0 Inca Rail, je retrouve un vieil ami : \u00ab Palo \u00bb ! Eh oui ! m\u00eame \u00e0 3h du matin ! Le colectivo pour Ollanta est annul\u00e9 ! (\u00ab Comment ca ? Vous n\u2019avez pas re\u00e7u un mail ? \u00bb ). Apr\u00e8s 30 min de discussions (Comment faire ? Est-ce qu\u2019on va avoir le train ?  Remboursement, etc\u2026 Bien s\u00fbr en devant out traduire pour un Allemand qui ne pige pas un mot d\u2019espagnol, et \u00e9galement le seul \u00e0 avoir re\u00e7u ce fameux mail, mais qui ne l\u2019avait pas compris.), on nous a dit de prendre un autre colectivo (qu\u2019il faut bien-s\u00fbr payer en plus, d\u2019o\u00f9 le miracle de l\u2019argent en plus d\u2019hier), qui part de derri\u00e8re le barrage ! Vamos ! On y va, on prend ce fameux colectivo en serrant les fesses pour arriver \u00e0 l\u2019heure pour le train (c\u2019\u00e9tait vraiment chaud). On prend le train et, enfin, c\u2019est la fin du voyage !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je me suis couch\u00e9e directement apr\u00e8s avoir poser un pied dans ma chambre. Luna \u00e9tait l\u00e0, les gar\u00e7ons \u00e9taient d\u00e9j\u00e0 repartis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hard awakening at 2:30 am, I take my famous taxi to go to the Inca Rail station, from where I am supposed to take a colectivo, which will take me to Ollataytambo, where there will be a train that will take me straight to Aguas Calientes, from where I will only have to walk 40 minutes to get to Mandor and collapse on my bed permanently. Easy as a plan, right?
Aaaah, but fate is cruel and when I arrive at Inca Rail, I find an old friend: “Palo”! Yes! even at 3am! The colectivo for Ollanta is cancelled! (“How so? Haven’t received an email? \u00bb ). After 30 minutes of discussions (How to do? Are we going to get the train? Refund, etc\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course having to translate for a German who does not draw a word of Spanish, and also the only one to have received this famous email, but who had not understood it.), we were told to take another colectivo (which of course must be paid in addition, hence the miracle of money in addition to yesterday), which starts from behind the dam! On a cuisin\u00e9 cordon-bleu \u2013 frites le soir. Rien d\u2019incroyable, mais de cette sortie sont n\u00e9s les Pancho Rangers, que vous verrez peut-\u00eatre bient\u00f4t sur vos \u00e9crans !<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Back to normality! I took my free afternoon to go back shopping in Aguas with Luna. Restaurant, bar, market and shopping. We cooked cordon-bleu \u2013 fries in the evening.
